Allow setting microphone noise removal level

Hi Rafael, I managed to listen to the samples you sent to me.
I think that the fundamental issue is one we have identified in the ML model, rather than the echo cancellation toggle itself. We have a new version we are looking to release this week which we think should address this.
Please keep your eyes open for that and do some tests. Let me know if that solves the issue you have had.

This is an interesting suggestion. The reason we started only with the speaker option is that you can't hear your own voice.
Can I ask what the interactions you have had around this look like? Are people saying that can't hear you? Are works / syllables being lost?

James Mady - IRIS Product Manager: hi James, thanks for following up. I've been testing it myself using the QuickTime audio recording function on my MacBook.
I was using earphones during the test and realized that disabling the echo mode on Iris seem to help.
With echo mode disabled the problems reduce drastically but still happen.
My voice sounds a bit choppy and start / end of sentences are cut out

Rafael: That sounds like a potential bug tbh. The echo cancellation toggle shouldn't have any impact on audio quality, just CPU usage.
The starts and end of sentences is something that we are actively working on with an improved ML model.
Would it be possible to send over those files with and without the toggle. From our POV, they should sound the same!
No pressure if you don't want to, but if you do, james.mady@iris.audio.
Thanks.

James Mady - IRIS Product Manager: sure, happy to do it. Will record some audio samples tonight and send tomorrow morning
Thank you for looking into it
